Tu Bole Main Boloon – Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na

Ek Main aur Ekk Tu (2012)

I was waiting to watch Ek Main aur Ekk Tu since the day the promotion of the movie had started. Not because the hero is one of my favorite Indian actors, Imran Khan and the heroine is the queen of romantic-comedies, Kareena Kapoor but because it was said that it would be the next “Jab We Met“. The trailer was also moving and the finishing part in trailer was quite hilarious.

But when I watched the movie, I wasn’t that impressed, what do you think? Don’t get me wrong; it’s not a bad movie but maybe my expectations were too high, who knows? :)

The movie has all the elements of the successful romantic-comedies. However this time, the hero, Rahul and the heroine Riana change places in terms of personalities and family types which can make this movie slightly unusual in that sense. Normally the heroine is quite conservative about relationships, stiff, timid and difficult to get friendly with, while the hero is very bold, courageous, flirty and takes things easy. In this movies, it is completely the opposite which was fun to watch. Also in the movie, the heroine mentions sex many times which is unusual for Bollywood where most of the times even a kiss between the lovers is avoided.

Imran Khan performs slightly different than his previous roles but Kareena Kapoor seems to reflect the same stereotype of heroine which you can see in most of romantic-comedy Bollywood movies. But don’t take it as a negative comment because I like her characters in the movies. She is very full of life and her witty manner always steals my hearth. As I said she is my favourite romantic-comedy actress.

When I think about it again, I’m not that disappointed with this movie. I don’t think it will be in my “I don’t know how many times I watched this movie” list but it is one of the good quality romantic-comedies and you won’t regret watching it. Have fun! :)
